Jennifer Razak is a Certified Genetic Counselor with MFM & Genetics of Advantia and is currently offering telehealth appointments at locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including but not limited to Washington, D.C., Frederick, MD, and Rockville, MD. To her new position, Jennifer brings not only a breadth of experience but also a compassionate nature, allowing her to provide personalized care for every patient.
What women’s health services do you offer?
I work as part of the maternal fetal medicine team to support you pre-pregnancy and during pregnancy. We know that pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also be overwhelming and have some unexpected complications.
Do you have any specialities or passions as a Certified Genetic Counselor?
As a prenatal genetic counselor, I am passionate about supporting people as they navigate planning pregnancies and pregnancies to help them understand personal risk factors, genetic testing options, and how that information may be useful in medical care.
What is your background in women’s health?
After I graduated from the University of Maryland Genetic Counseling Program in 2010, I worked as a reproductive genetic counselor in Fairfax, VA, for five years, learning assisted reproductive technologies and preimplantation genetic testing of embryos. Since 2015, I have worked as part of a maternal fetal medicine team, providing risk assessments, coordinating genetic testing, and supporting individuals through preconception and pregnancy.
Currently, I am an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Maryland and D.C. Society of Genetic Counselors. I have also served as a public member of several committees of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, including the Committee on Genetics, the Clinical Practice Guideline Committee for Obstetrics, and the Clinical Practice Guideline Committee for Gynecology.
