Katherine Robbins, FNP, and Marie Peters, WHNP-BC, Earn Elite Menopause Certifications
WASHINGTON, D.C. — August 4, 2026 — Liv by Advantia Health, a premier women’s health practice located on U Street in Washington, D.C., today announced that Katherine Robbins, FNP, and Marie Peters, WHNP-BC, have earned the prestigious The Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential.
The MSCP designation—formerly known as the NAMS certification—is the gold standard in midlife women’s health. It is awarded only to licensed healthcare professionals who pass a rigorous examination demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge in the biological shifts, symptom management, and long-term health risks associated with perimenopause and menopause.
With these achievements, Robbins and Peters join Physician Manager Dr. Sharon Kressel, MD, MSCP, giving the D.C. practice one of the highest concentrations of certified menopause specialists in the region.
“We want to help women to be prepared for the changes they’re experiencing during the menopause transition,” said Dr. Kressel. “Having both Katherine and Marie achieve MSCP status underscores our dedication to providing care that meets these needs and helps improve quality of life. Their advanced training guarantees our patients have expanded access to guideline-driven and evidence-based treatment strategies.”
Certified practitioners undergo deep-dive training focused on the multi-system impact of midlife hormonal shifts, including:
- Comprehensive Symptom Relief: Advanced management protocols for sleep disruption, mood changes, vasomotor symptoms, and metabolic shifts.
- Evidence-Based Therapeutics: Precision navigation of modern Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) regimens and emerging non-hormonal medical alternatives.
Katherine Robbins brings over eight years of clinical experience spanning critical care, labor and delivery, and family practice. She is known for brining a calm, confident presence to every patient she sees. At Liv, Katherine creates a supportive, judgment-free space where you can ask questions, share concerns, and feel fully seen.
Marie Peters, a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of experience in dedicated obstetric, gynecological, and family planning environments.
