Arlington, VA (July 9, 2020) – Advantia Health, the national healthcare provider transforming the care model for women, is proud to welcome Kathy B. Kaluhiokalani as the company’s first Chief Operating Officer (COO). Kaluhiokalani, a veteran healthcare industry leader, will oversee Advantia’s growth, integration, and operations for the company’s practices and technology. This news follows Advantia’s $45M investment led by BlueMountain, the announcement of its upcoming flagship location, Liv by Advantia Health, and making telemedicine available to all patients nationwide.

“Kathy brings a wealth of experience to Advantia,” said Co-Founder and CEO Sean Glass. “She is passionate about our mission to transform healthcare for all women and shares our vision that healthcare can be convenient, compassionate, and focused on the whole person. We are confident her expertise will help Advantia get to the next stage of growth while also setting a higher standard of care.”

Kaluhiokalani is a data-driven and action-oriented leader with decades of experience working with physicians, provider organizations, payers, and health systems. She previously served as CEO of Actify, a behavioral health company focused on interventional treatments for mood and anxiety disorders. Before her time with Actify, Kaluhiokalani served as COO of MedExpress, one of the nation’s largest urgent care operators.

“I am thrilled to join the leadership team at Advantia Health,” said Advantia Health COO Kathy Kaluhiokalani. “As both a patient and an industry executive, I am looking forward to bringing about real change in how we provide women’s healthcare.” Kaluhiokalani is the newest addition to the executive leadership team, which in the past year and a half has expanded to include Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lisa Shah, Chief Legal Officer Farinaz Tehrani, Chief Financial Officer Nathan Barbour, and Chief Strategy Officer Ben Lundin. She will be working particularly closely with Dr. Shah to enhance Advantia’s clinical and operational rigor.

Advantia Health continues to grow rapidly in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and across the country. The company plans to open its flagship practice, Liv by Advantia Health, in Washington DC’s U Street neighborhood in early 2021. Liv by Advantia Health will offer integrated, complete care for women including gynecology, obstetrics, primary care, mental wellness, physical therapy and more. Advantia also recently announced that it acquired the Washington DC-based Ob-Gyn practice Reiter, Hill & Johnson, adding 20 providers and three additional clinic locations to Advantia’s network.
