Arlington, VA (June 10, 2020) – Today, Advantia Health announced it acquired Ob-Gyn provider Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin (RHJN), its first Washington DC-based practice. With RHJN, Advantia adds 20 providers and 3 additional clinic locations (in Washington, DC, Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Falls Church, Virginia) to its growing network. The transaction closed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and Advantia and RHJN quickly worked to make comprehensive telemedicine services available to all patients as a complement to in-person care.

“We are excited to welcome Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin, one of the DC area’s leading Ob-Gyn practices, into the Advantia family,” said Co-Founder and CEO Sean Glass. “RHJN has a wonderful reputation of providing excellent quality Ob-Gyn care and they share our deep commitment to quality, empathy, and transforming care for all women.”

“Advantia Health is a perfect fit for Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin,” said RHJN Partner Dr. Heather L. Johnson. “For over forty years, RHJN has helped women deliver healthy babies and live healthier lives, and we are glad to be working with a team that shares our vision for women’s healthcare, especially during these challenging times. Advantia’s leadership and collaboration in the face of COVID-19 has been tremendous – from helping us secure PPE, to providing real-time updates on regulations and quickly helping us expand telehealth. I can’t imagine weathering this pandemic without their support.”

RHJN doctors will continue to perform surgeries and deliveries at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Northwest DC. RHJN patients have already gained access to telehealth services and can expect several enhancements in the coming months including online scheduling and check-in, a new easy-to-use website, and access to Advantia’s network of practices and specialists that include Ob-Gyn, primary care, oncology, and adolescent care. Together, RHJN and Advantia also plan to expand mental wellness offerings for patients throughout COVID-19 and beyond.

“RHJN has been trusted by generations of women in the DC area,” said Advantia Health Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lisa Shah. “We’re honored to welcome these exceptional providers and staff. Reiter Hill and Advantia will be stronger together as we collaboratively navigate the current pandemic, expand virtual care and adapt to an entirely new type of patient-provider interaction.”

Advantia Health continues to grow rapidly in the Washington, DC metropolitan area as well as across the country. Advantia recently announced that its flagship practice, Liv by Advantia Health, will open in Washington DC’s U Street neighborhood and offer integrated, complete care for women including gynecology, obstetrics, primary care, mental wellness, physical therapy and more. With Liv and RHJN, Advantia will have two practice locations in the District and plans to explore further opportunities to expand to meet the needs of all women in D.C. Advantia’s footprint in the greater Washington, D.C. area includes more than 30 offices located across the region from Fredericksburg Virginia to Frederick, Maryland.

Last year, Advantia acquired Heartland Women’s Healthcare, a Midwest Ob-Gyn practice, and Pacify, a leading telehealth app that provides on-demand, round-the-clock access to lactation and post-natal care for new mothers. Advantia started 2020 with a $45 million investment from BlueMountain Capital Management LLC, a subsidiary of Assured Guaranty Ltd, which is fueling additional growth. Advantia Health is launching its first flagship practice, Liv by Advantia Health and bringing on more providers and additional women-focused specialties through organic growth and acquisition across the country. Advantia has over 200 providers across 5 states and more than 50 locations.
