Dr. Alec Sunyecz is an OBGYN with Simmonds, Martin & Helmbrecht of Advantia and is currently practicing at the Frederick location. Here, he dedicates himself to providing personalized, compassionate care that empowers women through every stage of life.
What led you to become an OBGYN?
I’ve always been passionate about women’s health and love the continuity of care within the profession. It’s truly a privilege to get to support and make an impact on some of the biggest moments in the lives of women.
Do you have any specialities or passions as an OBGYN?
I practice as a general OBGYN, so I take care of a breadth of obstetric and gynecologic problems. However, my training was heavily focused on minimally invasive and robotic surgery, so I do have a specific interest in treating conditions like abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, and fibroids. I’ve also got a particular interest in treating patients with infertility.
What is your favorite food?
I love pizza. There are many different types of toppings, so I can never get tired of it!
What would you sing at karaoke night?
I’m not much of a singer, but I grew up near and completed medical school at WVU in Morgantown, West Virginia. So, John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” is ingrained in me.
