Arlington, VA (April 13, 2021)Advantia Health, the national healthcare provider transforming the care model for women, today welcomed Dr. Meera Garcia, MD, FACOG as Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Garcia will work across Advantia’s growing footprint of Ob-Gyn and specialty practices, as well as Advantia’s flagship practice Liv by Advantia Health, to help the company continue to drive better health outcomes and convenient, compassionate care for women.

“Dr. Garcia brings a wealth of clinical leadership experience to Advantia and cares deeply about our mission to transform healthcare for all women,” said Advantia Health CEO Vincent Bradley. “At Advantia, we know that setting a higher standard of care starts with excellent providers who embody our vision. As an Ob-Gyn who has also served in many leadership roles within women’s health, Dr. Garcia is the right leader for our clinical team, and will ensure that our providers are empowered to bring the highest quality care to patients across the country.”

Dr. Garcia joins Advantia Health from New York-Presbyterian and Columbia University, where she served as the Chief of General Ob-Gyn at New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley, Regional Director of Women’s Health Services at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and Assistant Professor at Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She specialized in high-risk obstetric patients, pelvic floor disorders, and minimally invasive surgeries, and has received a number of accolades as Top Doctor and as an educator in women’s health.

“My career has focused on women’s healthcare from the start, and while our field has experienced a lot of growth and clinical momentum in recent years, there is still so much room for innovation and progress,” said Dr. Garcia. “I’m thrilled to join Advantia Health and to be working with such impressive clinicians as we bring meaningful improvements to women’s experiences and health outcomes.”

Dr. Garcia has more than two decades of experience in obstetrics and gynecology in addition to holding multiple roles in clinical management. She spent seventeen years as an Attending Physician at Gyn Ob of Dekalb and an Ob-Gyn Urogynecologist at North Atlanta Ob-Gyn. During her time in Atlanta, Dr. Garcia was also the Chair of Gynecology at Northside Hospital System and was on the Board of Directors for a large single specialty provider group. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Case Western Reserve University, her MD from Duke University School of Medicine, and completed residency training at Emory University.

In March 2021, Advantia opened its flagship practice, Liv by Advantia Health, the first clinic in the D.C. region to offer coordinated care, including obstetrics, gynecology, primary care, mental wellness services, and more, at one practice. Despite the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, Advantia grew significantly in 2020, following a $45 million investment by BlueMountain Capital Management, LLC, a subsidiary of Assured Guaranty Ltd, announced in January. Advantia also made telehealth services available to all of its patients, expanded into Washington D.C. through the acquisition of Reiter, Hill & Johnson, and saw record utilization of its Pacify perinatal app as demand for virtual services surged amidst the pandemic.
