Allison was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. After working as a mining engineer in Tennessee, she went back to school to become a nurse and graduated from Lincoln Memorial University’s accelerated BSN program. She worked as a postpartum nurse for over seven years collectively in the Rockville, MD, and Philadelphia, PA, areas. Allison completed her MSN in the Nurse-Midwifery and Women’s Health/Gender-Related Nurse Practitioner programs at the University of Pennsylvania.
