What is AI-Enhanced Mammography Interpretation?
One of the most promising uses of artificial intelligence in the field of radiology is AI-powered mammogram interpretation. By performing a second digital review of the images, and analyzing every pixel, AI can detect abnormalities that are too small for the human eye to see.
How Does AI Review Mammograms?
To train AI to interpret mammograms, technicians feed it data from millions of mammogram images. The AI tool uses this data to develop algorithms that represent what normal and cancerous mammograms typically look like. It compares each new image against these patterns to identify potential abnormalities. The AI review results are provided to the radiologist who reviews the images.
