I was born to Nigerian immigrants and raised in Mansfield, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. At the University of Miami, I was a neuroscience major in college with minors in chemistry and exercise physiology. I moved a little closer to home as I completed my medical school at Baylor college of Medicine before going out west for residency training at Los Angeles County University of Southern California. Throughout my training I have worked with vulnerable populations as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow in medical school, where I helped create a program for homeless young adults, and in researching outcomes of incarcerated pregnant patients while in residency. In my dedication to addressing and combating social determinants of health, I led efforts of change as the inaugural Diversity Chief Resident of my residency’s OBGYN department. When I’m not working I am likely social distancing, reading a good book, exercising, trying to cook new recipes, watching sports, or letting my creativity flow using my sewing machine. I look forward to meeting you and the privilege of being a part of your healthcare.
