We are pleased to share that Dr. Alan Gonzalez-Cota, a leading physician in Interventional Pain Medicine, will lead our Spine & Pain Center serving Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland. “We believe Dr. Gonzalez-Cota’s contemporary, multi-disciplinary approach is the future of pain management, and we look to his experience, passion, and expertise to help build our pain management division and keep us on the cutting edge. We are extremely pleased to have recruited Dr. Gonzalez-Cota to Advantia Health,” said Advantia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Peter Glass.
Dr. Gonzalez-Cota is a board-certified physician who has received many national awards for his research in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. Before moving to Maryland in 2015, he served as President of the Delaware Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and member council of the Medical Society of Delaware. He is currently a member of the Evidence Based-Medicine and Patient Safety Committees of the prestigious International Spine Intervention Society. He completed his postgraduate Anesthesiology training at the University of Michigan in 2010, where he was the recipient of the Peter J. Cohen Award. Subsequently, he underwent sub-specialty training in Pain Medicine at the same institution. His areas of clinical interest are management of sports spine injuries, neurological interventions, and restoration of the physical function in various pain syndromes.
