Dr. Lorraine Cummings, MD, FACOG

Dr. Lorraine Cummings, MD, FACOG, began her medical education at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY, and she completed her residency in Ob/Gyn at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in New Brunswick, NJ.

She practiced in Asheville, NC, for 20 years before transitioning into teaching at the Wellspan Ob/Gyn Residency Program in York, PA. Finding medical education rewarding, Dr. Cummings devoted much of her time to preparing, training and evaluating the next generation of physicians.

Recently, Dr. Cummings recognized that returning to patient care would fulfill her desire to improve women’s health by sharing information directly with patients about the innovations available to them. She has particular interest in the use of hormonal interventions to treat PCOS and menopausal symptoms.

At Susquehanna Ob/Gyn & Nurse Midwifery, Dr. Cummings will also treat a broad range of gynecologic conditions that include uterine fibroids and endometriosis, support preventive health via routine well‑women exams and cancer screenings, and provide contraception counseling. She looks forward to developing relationships that will benefit her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Cummings enjoys finding new recipes to try, attending theater performances, watching streaming shows with her husband, reading, and taking road trips.

Dr. Cummings joins the Susquehanna Ob/Gyn & Nurse Midwifery team April 1.
