Robbi-Lynn Watnik, JD, CHPC
Robbi has over 30 years of experience in healthcare policy and was at the forefront of the development of healthcare compliance and privacy programs. Using this knowledge, she has guided medical professionals in the private and governmental sectors on the basics of both healthcare initiatives.
Ms. Watnik joined Advantia Health as the first Chief Compliance Officer in late November 2017. In this role, Ms. Watnik is building an enterprise-wide corporate compliance framework – to include HIPAA Privacy and Security – in accordance with industry standards. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures for all elements of an effective compliance, training, risk assessment and mitigation.
Prior to joining Advantia, Ms. Watnik worked for the federal government, first as HIPAA Compliance Officer for TRICARE Management Activity’s (now Defense Health Agency) Office of Privacy and Civil Liberties, and then as Deputy Chief Officer/Deputy Executive Director for the Veteran Health Administration’s Office of Compliance and Business Integrity.
Ms. Watnik earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Maryland. Her graduate and undergraduate degrees were received from New York State University Colleges at Fredonia and Potsdam, respectively. She is certified in healthcare privacy compliance by the Heath Care Compliance Association.
