You have been invited to participate in an Advantia_NEXT project. We thank you for giving us an opportunity to share our vision of what's coming next in healthcare.
What is the project?
We are developing a digital-ready practice delivered via a smartphone app. What if you could ask your doctor a question about side effects without having to make a new appointment? What if you didn't have to wait until your next annual exam to ask about a health concern. What if your concern could be handled remotely through a video visit? We want to eliminate the friction of waiting for an appointment to ask about routine questions, and make it easy and seamless when you do need to be seen in person.
Can I still see my doctor in person?
Yes! You can always come in to our office to be seen in person. You will need an appointment that we can help you make.
Which doctor can I see through this program?
Currently, Dr. Nihar Ganju and Dr. Tiffany Wilson are testing this system with selected patients.
What do I need to know?
You must have an Apple or Android smartphone to participate.
Typical turnaround time to respond to your concerns in-app are less than 2 hours, Monday to Friday 9AM-5PM.
DO NOT use the app to ask about urgent or life-threatening concerns. You must call our office directly (301-242-3020) or go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.
How do I participate?
If you have been selected to participate your doctor will contact you directly. You will be sent a link to your smartphone which will direct you to download an app that allows you to communicate securely with Dr. Ganju's digital practice team.
What is the cost?
There is no additional cost to you as a patient. We are not currently charging for in-app messaging. We will bill the insurance company for any in-person visits or video visits. You may be responsible for deductible or co-pay's for in-person or video visits depending on your health insurance plan.
Note: We do not charge for delivering text messages, but you may be charged by your wireless service provider for text messaging and data usage.
What about risks?
Review the consent prior to participating. The consent covers common risks of using telehealth. Primarily there are inherent security risks to electronic communication. Currently we are using a third party app which follows HIPAA guidelines to secure transmission of medical information. Although rare, a breach in security protocols can expose your personal health information.
A note about privacy.
We respect your privacy and confidentiality regarding your health information. We follow standard HIPAA policies and procedures of Advantia Health.
