Washington, D.C. (April 6, 2021) — Advantia Health announced today that Licensed Clinical Social Worker Andrea Agalloco, MSW, LICSW has joined Liv by Advantia Health’s coordinated care team as the mental wellness counselor. Advantia’s flagship practice Liv opened on March 25th at 1443 U Street NW, Washington, D.C., becoming the first clinic in the region to offer women coordinated care – primary care, obstetrics, gynecology, mental wellness, and more all under the same roof. Liv is currently accepting new members and seeing patients in-person and via telehealth.

“I’m thrilled to be working at a practice that understands the connections between mental wellness and physical wellness so that I can help my patients feel their best,” said Andrea Agalloco. “After a year of social distancing, taking care of your emotional wellbeing has never been more difficult and more important. Liv provides a supportive, welcoming, personalized space for women where they can focus on healing.”

Women have different mental health constructs than men. They experience emotions and mental health challenges differently in terms of prevalence, onset, patterns, and symptoms, which can all have an impact on their overall health. With coordinated care, Liv offers an innovative model that puts women’s lives, experiences, and unique needs at the center, making it easier to meet people where they are and provide whole-person care.

“Liv’s coordinated care model isn’t just about convenience – it’s about achieving better health outcomes. As an Ob-Gyn, I have seen first-hand the impact that mental health issues like depression and eating disorders can have on gynecological health and pregnancies,” said Dr. Sharon Kressel, lead Ob-Gyn at Liv. “I am thrilled to be working alongside Andrea to help women get all the support they need in one place.”

Andrea specializes in perinatal mental health, making her uniquely well-suited to support the coordinated care model at Liv. She previously worked as a mental health therapist at Mary’s Center and Andromeda Transcultural Health. She also spent ten years as a fundraiser and event planner for the nonprofit Share Our Strength. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Villanova University and a Master of Social Work from Catholic University of America.

In addition to coordinated care, Liv offers members telemedicine, online scheduling, same or next day appointments, interactive SMS functionality for scheduling and cancelling appointments, and a dynamic waitlist to get patients in sooner if possible. Following the first visit, free same-day prescription delivery will also be available, and pregnant and postpartum patients will get 24/7 access to lactation consultants through Advantia’s Pacify app. Through the Liv community, members will be invited to virtual events and workshops designed for every woman on relevant health and wellness topics. Members will also get discounts on classes, seminars, and memberships with other local organizations. Liv accepts most major insurance plans for health visits, including Cigna, CareFirst, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Medicare. Learn more about becoming a Liv member here.
