From Dr. Mazloomdoost

Why did you choose your specialty? What inspired you to pursue this career path?

After 6 years in practice as a general OB-GYN, I noticed a significant need in the female population for expertise in pelvic floor disorders. Current estimations report that 1 in 5 women will require surgical management for a pelvic floor disorder, and over time, I began to notice this more and more in my own patient population. On a daily basis, I began encountering patients complaining of pelvic floor symptoms, and I was inspired to pursue a fellowship to better address this need.

Why did you choose to join Advantia?

Advantia is a forward thinking organization, started by physicians, dedicated to providing excellent care to patients. I was impressed with the physicians in the group and the opportunity to serve the women of Montgomery County and the greater Washington, DC metro area. I believe the organization is supportive of reaching out to provide all services necessary to the female population.
